How to Sheet Mask

I got out of the habit of using face masks over Winter but now that Spring is in the air and the current situation means that we all have a bit more free time on our hands, I've rebooted the mask obsession! Here are my top tips on using sheet masks... I’ll be the first to admit that when sheet masks first hit the beauty scene I was intimidated yet intrigued. I'd always been familiar with the skincare masks that came in tubs and tubes which you slather all over your face. Afterwards, these often involved a clean up operation of the inevitable mess left behind all over your hands and bathroom, then the annoying process of having to pick it out of your hair after washing it off…totally worth it! The idea of a single-use mask that was easy to apply and remove just didn’t compute. I decided to embrace the trend and let me tell you, I'm now hooked. Who knew beauty masks could be so quick and easy! What is a sheet mask? It’s quite literally a mask in sheet form, wit

Simple Mindfulness - Tune into Nature

Sometimes we need to tune into nature to forget about the noise of life...

Work deadlines, bills after bills, health challenges, social obligations, family tensions... Does this sound familiar? These trials and strains are all guaranteed along the wonderful journey we call life, however, there is no reason to let stresses get the better of us. We need to pick ourselves up, move on and embrace the great outdoors.

A few weekends back I treated my restless mind and tensed up shoulders to a road trip back to one of my favourite childhood parks - the gardens and parkland of Burghley House in Stamford, Lincolnshire. The goal was to get rid of stress and reconnect with nature. We walked through the sculpture gardens and the new water park listening to the sounds of the trees and fountains. We completely tuned out of the daily grind and tuned into real stuff. The authentic, feel-good, genuinely happy stuff. If you feel in need of a tune out to tune in then here are a few tips on how to reconnect.

Nature Mindfulness

Explore the Great Outdoors

Travel light - Less is more. Don't weigh yourself down with things and keep it simple: jeans, a t-shirt, trainers, a sweater and a small rucksack of essentials.

Pick a good road trip partner - Someone on the same wavelength as you with a goal to explore the great outdoors.

Or travel solo - Less distractions!

See new things - Really tune in to your surroundings and take a camera with you. Aiming to take beautiful photos can really help you to focus on what's actually there.

Be thankful - I find it easier to relieve stress when I'm truly grateful for the opportunity to travel and see the beautiful, natural sights around me.

Be open to a new perspective - You might learn new things as you tune into nature.
