Feeling good is just 60 seconds away with these uplifting daily rituals...
Small steps really do make a difference to our wellbeing. Simple, mini, bite-sized moments of nurturing are accessible, achievable and effective. Taking just a few seconds out of our busy schedules to focus on something uplifting and gather perspective can do a world of good for our spirits and re-balance our minds.
Taking just 60 seconds to step out of the office into the fresh air to concentrate on deep breathing, has the potential to change our outlook. This simple action can spark a whole host of healthier, more productive choices and improve our mood for the rest of the day. Soothing the nervous system with a small moment of relaxation can help to replenish willpower and aid us in making better decisions all round.
Here are a few more mini rituals to incorporate into your day to improve positivity and wellbeing...
1. Morning Mantras - Take a few seconds in the morning to motivate yourself for the day ahead. Approach each day as a fresh start and think of the possibilities that lie ahead, focusing on the positives. For inspiration see my recent
blog post on Mantras. Spritz an uplifting room spray into the air and perform a few shoulder rolls and neck stretches as you repeat the mantra.
2. Revitalizing Routine - Choose an outfit that lifts your mood or apply a bright pop of lipstick. Spritz on your favourite perfume and spend a moment appreciating the beautiful fragrance.
3. Positive Posture - Sitting at a desk all day hunched over a computer is bound to cause tension in the shoulders. When you begin to feel your posture slumping sit as tall as you can, as if a string were pulling you up from the top of your head. Try not to let your shoulders rise up.
4. Mini Massage - During the working day take 5 seconds to apply a hand cream. Concentrate on the wrists, palms and fingers. Pinch the base of the fingers then slide your grip down to the tips as if squeezing away tension. For a few moments hold a crystal in your hand, such as rose quartz for
creativity and joy.
5. Before Bed - Perform your favourite self-care ritual. Whether that be a long soak in the bath, a comforting cup of tea or a rejuvenating yoga routine, really savour the moment. End every day on a positive note.
